Workspace

Your domain

Every prospect page lives on your own subdomain. Required before you publish. Three steps, usually about ten minutes.

Prospect links look like https://go.yourcompany.com/k3x9p2, never like Echo's address. That makes them look trustworthy, get clicked more and land in inboxes better. A workspace must have a Live domain before it can publish a campaign, restore an archived one, download links or use Send links.

You need access to your DNS provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Route 53 and so on), or someone who has it. Only workspace admins can connect or remove the domain.

Step 1: Choose a subdomain

Go to Settings, Domain, type a subdomain and click Connect domain.

Step 1. The idea buttons fill in common choices.
  • Use a subdomain like go., read., hello., meet. or for.yourcompany.com. Your main website is not touched.
  • A bare domain (yourcompany.com) is refused, and so are addresses on shared hosting platforms that your company does not own.
  • A domain can belong to one workspace only.

Step 2: Add the three DNS records

Echo shows three records. Every name and value has a Copy button. Pick your provider in the tabs above the records for where to click.

Step 2 and 3. Copy each record into your DNS provider; the checklist turns green as Echo verifies.
RecordWhat it does
CNAME your subdomain → Echo's targetPoints your subdomain at Echo
TXT ownership recordProves you own the domain
TXT certificate recordLets Echo issue the HTTPS certificate

Provider tips:

  • Providers that can proxy traffic (an orange cloud icon, for example): set the CNAME's proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud).
  • GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace: in the Name or Host field, enter only the part before your domain (for example go or _acme-challenge.go).
  • Route 53: use the full names exactly as shown.

Step 3: Echo verifies

Echo checks every minute (or click Check now). The checklist shows: domain added, DNS records found and ownership verified, HTTPS certificate issued, serving prospect pages. When all four are done the status is Live.

Live: every prospect link now uses your domain.

Most providers update within minutes; some take a few hours. If the status says Needs attention, the message under the domain explains what is wrong (usually a typo in a record, or a DNS proxy left on).

Changing or removing the domain

Remove disconnects the domain. All prospect links stop working until you connect a domain again, and you cannot publish meanwhile. To move to another subdomain, remove the old one and connect the new one; links already sent on the old domain stop working.
